Aunt Phyllis, here is Jeffs grandmas recipe: Apple Dapple Cake 1 1/2 cups cooking oil 3 eggs 2 cups sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 3 cups plain flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 cup chopped pecans 3 cups chopped apples (no peelings) 1. Combine oil, eggs, sugar, & vanilla, mix well. 2. Sift flour with soda & salt. 3. Beat into mixture with electric mixer. 4. Fold in pecans & apples. Pour into 2 part tube pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Glaze 1 cup light brown sugar 1 stick margarine (not light) 1/4 cup milk 1. Mix ingredients and cook for 3 minutes. 2. While hot, pour over cake. 3. Let cool in pan for 2 hours. 4. Remove from pan, right side up. Sweet & simple, enjoy!
