Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi Aveley parkrun Event number 29 25th January 2014 What a great way to celebrate Pre - Australia Day with a themed parkrun. Some fantastic outfits with great imagination. My favourite has to be Traceys as Dame Edna followed closely by her son as a hotdog! Im sure they must have a dressing up box at home. A big thank you to all the volunteers for helping run another great parkrun event at Aveley. The chook raffle results are in!! All the finish tokens we received back today went in to a box at the scanning station. We also put in finish tokens for all the volunteers for today. We pulled out a finish token and matched it up with the name in today’s results and vollies. The winner of the Chook Raffle is…… Paula Bailey! Well done Paula! We will be in touch. Mens placings: Matthew SMITH (JM15-19) of Trinity AC, was first over the line in 18:36 - 13th time in 13 appearances. Anthony SMITH (VM40-44) of Masters Athletics W.A. (Western Australia), was second over the line in 19:17 - has been first to finish on 5 previous occasions. Dylan QUADRIO (SM25-29) (Unattached) was third over the line in 19:57. Current standing in the Mens annual points competition: Anthony SMITH (Masters Athletics W.A. (Western Australia)) 2279 pts. Glynn TAYLOR (Unattached) 1671 pts. Paul BROADBENT (Unattached) 1639 pts. Womens placings: Margaret HADLEY (SW30-34) (Unattached) was first (4th overall) over the line in 20:42 - 8th time in 8 appearances. Chrissy GOOD (SW25-29) (Unattached) was second (9th overall) over the line in 24:57. Tracey METTAM (VW45-49) (Unattached) was third (16th overall) over the line in 26:43 - was first to finish once before. Current standing in the Womens annual points competition: Christine TAYLOR (five30runners) 2510 pts. Caterina MCKENZIE (Unattached) 1756 pts. Paula BAILEY (Unattached) 1669 pts. The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores: Matthew SMITH (JM15-19) was graded 72.58% for the time 18:36 (first overall). Anthony SMITH (VM40-44) was graded 72.43% for the time 19:17 (second overall). Margaret HADLEY (SW30-34) was graded 71.82% for the time 20:42 (4th overall). This week there were 71 runners, of whom 18 were first timers and 19 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different athletics clubs took part. Aveley parkrun started on 6th July 2013, and since then 422 different runners, including participants from 14 athletics clubs, have completed 1,316 runs covering a total distance of 6,580 km, and there have been 349 new Personal Bests. The womens record is held by Margaret HADLEY who ran in a time of 00:19:34 on 2013-08-17 (event number 6). The mens record is held by Matthew SMITH who ran in a time of 00:17:11 on 2013-09-21 (event number 11). The Age Grade course record is held by Ian DAVIES who recorded a 81.80% run (20:42) on 4th January 2014 (event number 26).
