Austin update: Our prayers have been answered and the bleeding has stopped. Today we will get to go home after what seems like the longest 8 days of our lifes. Austin is doing well even though we are not out of the woods yet. The new bleeds that started in his enlarged varices, will continue to be a problem until he receives a shunt. We will continue to pray for no more bleeds and allow time for him to grow. The doctors say the older and bigger he is the higher success rate for the shunt. The shunt will help open up the portal vein and help blood to flow and not back up. Austin has several blood clots causing blood to back up (varices) that makes a risk for rupture or bleeding in other areas. The long term threat is that the clotting can eventually lead to restricting blood flow to the liver. All we can do Is put it in Gods hands. When the time is right he will guide us down the right path for Austin. Austin has been a inspiration to people all over the world. God has a plan for Austin and we keep our faith in the Lord almighty. Thank you all for continued prayers and support.
