Austin wisely notes : =============================== Excellent explanation of how humans natural instinct to seek out patterns can cause us to see patterns where they dont exist, causing us to conflate correlation and causation. Without using the discriminating lens of science and critical inquiry, we can fall victim to believing there are relationships between vaccinations and autism, that manmade climate change cannot be real, and that apparently blowing on video games helps them work (I still thought that one was real!). As the narrator says: “Science, above all else, requires a desire to disprove ourselves. It’s that sharp tool that we use to poke holes in our ideas to make sure that they’ll float.” ========================
