Australia can afford to fund the services we need while caring for our environment, but only if the old parties have the courage to make long term structural changes to our economy. Keeping a price on pollution and taxing Big Mining and banks properly are some of the ways the Greens have proposed to build a more caring nation. On Thursday I will share those plans in The Australian Greens budget reply speech. But tonights budget makes it clear who Tony Abbott is governing for. This is a budget for a merciless world where Big Business profits are put ahead of health & happiness, families and the environment.
