OVERNIGHT MARKETS US Equities Index/Security Close Chg %Chg Dow Jones (US) 14758.32 -353.87 -2.34 S&P 500 1588.19 -40.74 -2.50 NASDAQ 3364.64 -78.56 -2.28 US sharemarkets slumped on Thursday, extending the previous sessions sharp declines. The Fed´s commitment to taper its QE program and sharp rise in US treasury yields were the major drivers. All 10 S&P sectors were sharply lower. The Dow Jones lost 354pts or 2.3pct with the S&P 500 down by 41pts or 2.5pct while the Nasdaq lost 79pts or 2.3pct.
