Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FIRE WEATHER WARNING for the Maranoa and Warrego, Central West, Central Highlands and Coalfields districts, and parts of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Channel Country and Northwest districts. Issued at 9:56pm EST on Tuesday the 24th of September 2013 for Wednesday. A surface trough lies from the west of the state to southeast Queensland and is expected to persist across the interior of the state on Wednesday. Hot, dry, windy conditions will persist across most southern and central interior districts, producing the following conditions on Wednesday: Severe fire danger in the Maranoa and Warrego, Central West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, western parts of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt, northern and eastern parts of the Channel Country, and southern parts of the North West district. Temperatures to 41 degrees, relative humidity down to 5%, and winds to 40 km/h are expected. The Severe to Extreme fire danger conditions have decreased in the affected districts for the remainder of today. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service Queensland advises that fires will be uncontrollable and fast-moving. The next warning will be issued by 5am EST Wednesday.
