Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FLOOD WATCH FOR COASTAL CATCHMENTS BETWEEN ROCKHAMPTON AND HERVEY BAY Issued at 12:35 pm EST on Friday 12 December 2014 Issue Number: 3 A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Central Highlands & Coalfields, Capricornia and Wide Bay & Burnett forecast districts. An upper level trough is forecast to bring showers and storms, possibly rain areas to the watch area for the remainder of Friday and during Saturday. Rainfall totals of 50-100 mm are possible, with locally higher totals likely with storms. Recent rain over the past 24 hours within the watch area has wetted the catchments. River level rises above the minor flood level are possible. Localised heavy rainfall may also lead to flash flooding. Catchments at risk within the Flood Watch area include the Dawson (Fitzroy catchment), Calliope, Boyne, Kolan, Burnett, Burrum-Cherwell and Mary.
