Australian High Commission staff participated in a crisis-response training exercise last week to test the High Commission’s Crisis Action Plan. Staff from all Australian agencies represented in Vanuatu, including the Australian Defence Force, Australian Federal Police and the Australian Civilian Corps, responded to a crisis scenario run by consular and humanitarian officials from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Representatives from the French Embassy and New Zealand High Commission also participated in the exercise. France, Australia and New Zealand make up the FRANZ group, which works with the Vanuatu Government to coordinate responses to crises in Vanuatu.
