Australian politicians are also incapable of making proper - TopicsExpress

Australian politicians are also incapable of making proper legislation. They have too many vested interests and political funding behind them to be able to do so. We need to a totally new party and change the system. For example, the new Australian aviation regulations to come into effect on 1 Sept 2014, will not increase safety, but cost the industry lots of money in compliance (at the smaller end double costs), and force smaller businesses to close. The system isnt broken. Where are all the accidents that its going to prevent? CASA has spent over 15 years creating jobs for themselves to come up with legislation that is almost incomprehensible, overly prescriptive, overly cautious, and they themselves cant provide an interpretation on or advise on some of it. All it does is increase compliance costs and take away flexibility in operations such as helicopter flights. The basis is you must prove that it is safe if there is an accident and you are assumed guilty. Brilliant! Reposting Nobbys comments below: Not before time - or is it already too late? And nothing will happen anyway, cos they dont have the balls to follow through! The biggest crime gang in the US is not the Mafia. It is banking and government. When a politicians vote can be bought, the only democratic thing is the decision to say yes or not to the money! And yet the American people allow it to go on instead of protesting about it. Mind you, its not too different around the world. Id like to think Australia is different, but we pay for stupidity in the same way.
