Australia’s First Ever Ukrainian Film Festival! Geelong’s The Pivotonian Cinema is proud to announce that it will be hosting Australia’s first ever Ukrainian Film Festival from January 15 – 21, 2015. Spotlight on Ukrainian Film aims to celebrate the significant contribution that the country’s filmmakers have made to international cinema. The Festival will feature current Ukrainian productions as well as classics sourced from the nation’s film archive, the Dovzhenko Center. Join us on opening night for the critically acclaimed documentary MAIDAN by Sergei Loznitsa. Currently screening at MOMA New York and featured at Cannes Film Festival, Melbourne IFF, and many more places around the world! Locally made Pierogi and Ukrainian beer will be available and the bar will be open after the screening for patrons to socialise and discuss the documentary. Special event tickets are $15 per person. All films in the festival have an exemption rating of R18+. Festival programmes are available at the cinema and tickets can be bought online at pivotocinema.au
