Authentic Sourdough Here is a little background for you on one of my favourites. Ever wondered what 200-year-old bread tastes like? Authentic. At Bakers Delight, we make and bake our bread by hand using traditional techniques and recipes. Authentic baking techniques make great authentic bread, and nothing is more authentic than our sourdough. A passion for flavour Sourdough is made with a lot of experience and love, and it all starts with a passion for flavour. A subtly sour accent combines with the rich full flavour of an aged sourdough to produce what we believe is the best example of traditional sourdough available. Authentic origins Our Authentic Sourdough is well travelled, made from a starter sourced from the birthplace of sourdough, San Francisco. Using tried and tested baking methods, our bakers make Sourdough the same way sourdough has been made for 200 years. Time-honoured process We follow a time-honoured 8-hour process of baking our sourdough to hand-make Authentic Sourdough. We take time, not shortcuts. Moulded by hand, our dough rests for a few hours at different stages, to ensure a full, rich flavour. When the loaf goes into the oven, it’s baked on hot stones, not metal trays, giving it a lovely crusty finish.
