Authentic – what exactly does it mean to be authentic? I was called authentic while home this time and my mind cannot appropriately wrap around the enormity of this Authenticity. Authentic per the complimenter- is truly being yourself (owning it) no matter what your view of what other people think of you. Now now – I am not saying that we should act crazy and have no filter all the time. We must respect our communities, our jobs, and our families but authenticity is a HUGE compliment. I had to open the thesaurus for other words to truly understand the meaning true, reliable, dependable, faithful, trustworthy, accurate, genuine, realistic, real, and original. Are we ever sure of how we are viewed? For myself in the Year 2015– in the Dirty Souf – in the Burg, I want to be MORE Present, MORE Real, More Involved, More Collaborative, More Authentic, More of a Reflective Teacher, More…. So, May Blessings Be In 2015 for you - and think of ways to be more authentic.
