Author friends. Two quick questions Ive been pondering for some time: 1. Does the new Kindle Unlimited help or hurt the author? It seems to me it would decrease your profits, but it also seems the author has up sign up/approve their books to be a part of Kindle Unlimited since only certain books apply. 2. Pirates: where do they attack most? Are they hacking peoples devices to steal? Are they simply selling ARC copies? Are they somehow getting them free online and selling them? Or are they readers selling like use of their accounts? Im hoping to find a way to minimize the pirating of books but I need a little more info. Also, what would help bring up your income from your books? Cheaper editing? Cheaper publishing? Cheaper swag/PR? Obviously less pirating and real consequences for pirates and those who receive stolen work.
