Autism..The Struggle is Real. This video is of my niece Kaedince spelling her name. You might think oh wow no big deal but let me tell you how much of a breakthrough this is. Kaedi was diagnosed with mild autism at age 3 and at the time she was not speaking at all and I mean not even a word. When my sister in law sent me this video last week I was brought to tears. I am not going to sit here and tell you I know this or that about Autism but what I can tell you is that the struggle is real. I have watched my sister and brother in law over the years and I have to say how proud I am of them. They are defying the odds because what I do know is that 85% of families that have a child with a disibility end up in divorce. The stress is almost unbearable on these families. We as a society must do better so if you know a family or a friend that has a child with Autism asking them the simplest question of... How are you doing today? It could make all of the difference because their daily struggle is real...xoxo
