AutoVerify 1 For the convenience and safety of general public esp. women, Gurgaon Police had started a unique service named “Auto Verify” last year.Through this service, commuter can obtain contact details (name, address, etc.) of the auto/taxi owner by sending an SMS containing the auto/taxi registration number at mobile number 8860622032.In case of non-receipt of response against the SMS sent, it can be assumed that the said auto/taxi is not registered with the Registration Authority and the commuter is advised to avoid travelling in that auto/taxi. At the start of service, database of 18000 autos were available in the database and now the database has been increased with contact details of 32063 auto and 26707 taxi owners.Another advantage of this service is to help commuter (with the help of police) locate the auto/taxi driver in case any expensive item is left behind in the auto/taxi. 2 Complaints of overcharging or undue harassment by auto/taxi driver can be reported at Gurgaon Police helping number 9999999953.
