Autumn arrived this morning then forgot how to Fall. The air during my last break was warm and still, almost nap-inducing. Hundreds of tiny bubbles were blown from my wand only to hang suspended in midair, drifting so slowly it looked like they were gradually pushed down by the layers of bubbles building above them. They hit head height just as a girl from the high school next door wandered through the middle of the drop zone, and she spent the next couple of minutes madly popping the slow-moving hoard, her pack jouncing on her back as she darted about in pursuit. She was grinning when she gave me a final wave and raced off to where ever she was going before a cloud of ninja bubbles picked a fight. A second girl stopped below in hopes of more bubbles, but the breeze chose that moment to remember what it was for and scattered them high over head. She still gave me a heart sign before moving on, and then it was time for me to be moving on as well.
