Autumn is upon us so we are going full steam ahead in the Joan’s Pantry Garden. This Sunday the 9th, tomorrow, :) , we have a working bee officially from 3.00 to 5.00 as usual. However this week we are planning to begin earlier at 2.00 pm as we have a lot to do in the garden. We plan to construct a number of community wicking beds so that we can begin to put in winter crops. We are also mid-way through constructing a fence to grow berries along. If you do have any time to spare, it would be wonderful to see you at 7 Watahuna Avenue Hawthorndene behind the Joan’s Pantry café (if you don’t know where we are). New members are always very welcome, but anyone is very welcome to participate. We are considering the idea of expanding the number of plots to include individual plots for those wanting to have their own space to grow vegies. Please let us know if you are interested in this idea. If you are considering coming on Sunday it might be an idea to bring a spade – we are working on accessing funds to buy tools – but at this stage we are using our own.
