Available position with the ATLANTA WATERSHED MANAGEMENT Job Title: Investigator, Senior Closing Date/Time: Fri. 11/29/13 11:59 PM Eastern Time Salary: $19.52 - $29.33 Hourly $1,561.54 - $2,346.15 Biweekly $40,600.00 - $61,000.00 Annually Job Type: Full-time Location: Atlanta, GA, Georgia The individuals in this position conduct thorough, detailed, unbiased, and timely investigations for the City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management, Office of Safety and Security. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to ensuring that City employees and assets are protected and secured. This is a highly experienced professional, who routinely exercises project leadership over complex projects, trains other professionals, or serves as a specialized subject matter expert in one or more specific areas. Conducts interviews of City employees, witnesses, and other individuals in the investigation of claims. Investigates assigned internal complaints. Prepares investigative summaries, correspondence of investigation, status reports and sends to requester. Reviews and evaluates new and ongoing Theft of Water Services cases. These cases originate from Collections and Billing Departments or other sources. Investigator determines liability, gives consideration to statutory and contract provisions. Conducts interviews of Customers, witnesses, and other individuals in the investigation of referenced cases. Prepares investigative summaries, correspondence of investigation, status reports and sends to requester. Makes presentations thereof for correspondences and/or briefs; and prepares flow charts to be used in discussions. Maintains investigation files, provides assistance and direction as needed. Examines and reviews various documents to establish facts and establish authenticity of data, writes court citations, and provides assistance in the prosecution of felony and misdemeanor court cases. Testifies in court, civil service board hearings and other legal proceedings as needed. Locates and interviews employees, defendants, witnesses, citizens and police officers and others as necessary to verify the facts indicating violation of the law (Non-Criminal Cases), City code and department policy and procedure bulletins. Communicates with supervisors, managers, department heads and other staff to review findings and otherwise provide information for recommendations; maintains ongoing relationships with area law enforcement agencies. Operates a computer, various surveillance equipment and city issued vehicle in an effective and efficient manner.
