Aviation incident, Coen: Police have commenced a land search for two men after a light aircraft made an emergency landing on a remote dirt airstrip at Kerchering yesterday. Around 12.50pm Coen Police were advised of the incident involving a privately owned Jabiru light aircraft at an outstation between Aurukun and Coen. The 60-year-old male pilot and his male passenger also aged 60, did not sustain any injuries during the landing and were able to make communication with other air craft. Coen Police yesterday travelled to Wathineen outstation where today they will join local rangers to search for the occupants.
