Aviator Newsletter Week #2: We hope you had a wonderful first week back at school. It’s been great gathering with old friends and seeing the many new families becoming part of our school community! We welcome and look forward to meeting our new Aviator families as we join in events throughout the year together. Besides our fantastic staff and administration, one of the greatest contributors to our students’ success is our history of strong parental involvement. As a PTO, we are once again planning numerous exciting activities, programs, and special events for the 2013-2014 school year. We are in the middle of our PTO Membership Drive, The Wall of Fame. Interested in a chance to win an Apple ipad Mini? Each member that donates at the “Major” $150 level will be entered to win! Drawing to be held Sept. 13. With a minimum donation of $75, your name will be engraved on one of our Wall of Fame plaques in the office. We will also mention you in our newsletter, website, and Facebook for family/business donations above $75. All PTO Flight Crew Memberships are only $10. Just return your envelope and mark your ranking by Friday, September 13 to your child’s teacher and your Aviator(s) will earn a popsicle at our school-wide popsicle party! Preserve Academy Flight Crew is a 501©3 and donations are tax deductible. To help support Cal Aero’s Flight K-16: College Bound program, the Flight Crew will be assisting in ordering university t-shirts and student agendas. University shirt and agenda order forms are due to your child’s teacher by Friday, September 6. All students (K-8) wear university shirts every Monday. Please turn in Spirit Wear orders by Friday, September 13! Any items that are backordered will be here in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your patience. Our 4th Annual “Aviators on the Run” Jog A Thon is coming soon!Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 10 to come cheer on our Aviators! This is our MAJOR FUNDRAISER of the year at Cal Aero! 100% OF THE PROFITS GO DIRECTLY BACK TO OUR KIDS! WITH ONLY $30 PLEDGED PER STUDENT, WE WILL MEET OUR GOAL TO PAY FOR BUSSES TO GET TO THE BEACH, ALL FIELD TRIP BUSSES, AND STUDENT AWARDS! During the event, we raffle off prizes to our Aviators. We will have sign-up sheets for events we have planned this year at Back To School Night on Wednesday, September 11 in the gym, and at the jr. high BTS night on Wednesday, September 4 in the gym.
