Research indicates that eating avocados may help lower cholesterol. In one study, participants ate avocados every day for a week and experienced a 22% drop in their LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels, and a 16% reduction in total blood cholesterol. They also had an 11% increase in their HDL (good cholesterol). While rare, some people are allergic to avocados, so talk with your doctor if you experience any unpleasant side effects from eating them.
