AvoyellesToday Gun found at Marksville High Details Published: 28 March 2014 School Superintendent Dwayne Lemoine has confirmed at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, March 28 that a single classroom is in lockdown at Marksville High School after a gun was found in the classroom. Police are on the scene and conducting an investigation. The gun was discovered in a classroom. It was found while drug dogs were in the school performing a random, routine search in the school. The dog was being led through the school by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriffs Office. Police found the gun in the back of a classroom. Superintendent Lemoine said the situation is under control but police are trying to determine how the gun was sent to the classroom. There is no threat to the students or faculty at Marksville High School. The Avoyelles Parish Sheriffs Office is still on scene and has not released any information about the incident as of 10:50 a.m.
