Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) has urged the govt. to release long pending wages of casual labors working in PDD and other deptts. In a press statement party general secretary Adv. Nazir Ahmad Malik has reminded the govt. that it is these casual laborers working against meager wages and doing the job of full time employees but are not getting even minimum wages as prescribed by the labor laws. He said. “Scores of these casual labors have either lost their lives or have been rendered handicapped due to various incidents and poor transmission network of power dept while performing their duties. It is these casual labors of PDD who perform their duties round the clock in far flung areas but don’t get even this meager salary for months together and there by their family is compelled to starvation. State govt. must immediately release their wages without any excuses and not to force its own employees to come to the streets. Had these casual laborers in PDD not been working with interest and dedication, the deptt. which is in shambles since long would have collapsed.”
