Award: $5,000- Deadline: May 2, 2014 This scholarship is for African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Hispanic students who will be entering sophomores, juniors, seniors, or fifth-year seniors in pursuit of an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must plan to attend a degree-seeking program, full-time, at a US accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, or Guam during the 2014-2015 academic year. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and show proof of US citizenship or legal permanent residency with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired). All majors will be considered. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the insurance and financial services industry, and to those who demonstrate leadership and participation in extracurricular activities. Applicants also must apply for federal financial aid by completing the FAFSA.
