Award-winning photojournalist and UVM alum Robert Nickelsberg will talk about his latest book, Afghanistan: A Distant War, and his experiences in that country at the Mt. Philo Inn on May 16. As a photographer for the New York Times and Time magazine, Nickelsberg observed Afghanistan emerge from an eight-year war against the Soviet Union and then descend into a brutal civil war followed by a Taliban takeover.
