Awesome Job to all agencys involved! POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTS IN JULY 30-31 ARMED ROBBERIES Four suspects sought in the July 30-31 armed robberies of a pair of Mesquite convenience stores have been arrested. The four men – 23-year-old Michael Green, 20-year-old Jeremy Jones, 20-year-old Tyrell Cornist and 19-year-old Tyvon Williams – were arrested Monday and Tuesday by police from Mesquite and Garland, along with U.S. marshals, according to Sgt. Brian Parrish of the Mesquite Police Department. According to Parrish, the four have been charged with aggravated robbery and additional charges are expected. A fifth suspect – 18-year-old Michael Paxton – was shot and killed by a Garland man whose residence the suspects were attempting to break in last Thursday at the Broadway Apartments in the 5200 block of Broadway near U.S. Interstate 30 and Duck Creek Drive in Garland. The four suspects and the dead man are believed to have committed three other home invasion robberies and at least two more store robberies. The locations of those robberies were not provided. Records of any past criminal cases against any of the men were not immediately available. At least one of the men arrested earlier this week was armed when taken into custody. In the first known Mesquite armed robbery, the suspects entered a convenience store at Oates Drive and Northwest Drive demanding money from the clerk on July 30 at about 3:30 a.m. A fourth male confronted a female in the parking lot before going inside and joining the other three in the store. According to MPD Lt. Bill Hedgpeth, one suspect had a rifle and two suspects had handguns. In the second Mesquite robbery on July 31, three men entered a convenience store at I- 30 and Motley Drive at about the same time threatening to shoot the clerk if she did not comply with their demands for money. One had a rifle and one had a handgun. No one was injured in either Mesquite robbery. Crime Stoppers had offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information that led to the arrest ad conviction of the suspects. It is not known whether the reward offer aided law enforcement authorities in identifying and arresting the suspects. No other information has been provided at this time.
