Awesome dad moment : Just got home from my 8 year olds baseball practice. This year he moved up a level and hes one of the younger kids again. Hes not as big or strong as the other boys but he hustled his butt off & you could see a little spark plug out there working hard to prove himself. He kept his glove down on ground balls, he followed through with his throws, he got the angles on fly balls and set himself up to throw it in. When he batted he waited and turned on the ball keeping a tight swing. He put to use all the stuff we worked on during the Summer with some aggression. He said he felt good out there and wants to fight for a starting spot. I told him I was proud of him for working hard. Then as we got out of the car he said Thanks for the tips, Dad. My heart almost popped. He has 3 coaches out there and good coaches in the past but in his head he was thinking of my voice out there. Thats a big deal to me.
