Awesome night--I had the A-Team working alongside me at that wedding and everyone loved the food. After serving the initial hors doeuvres, we kicked out nine different viands to nearly 100 peeps in 65 minutes. The downside: my purse was snatched from the truck. That would be the black Louis Vuittan purse that my sister-in-law gave me years ago. It was my favorite, favorite, and I know it carried a hefty price tag. Lost: my wallet with my credit cards and drivers license, my Garth Brooks tickets that Marcia McPhail had just sent me, nearly all of my make up, my receipt book and calculator, and my favorite Afro pick. But get this: I had my keys and my phone charger at the shop, my phone and my new favorite lipstick in my pocket, and my coin purse, which had all of my cash and my check from last nights party, dropped out of the purse and was in the parking lot next to the truck. I also have a single GB ticket for the first Friday nights show. So considering I lost that purse, I made out alright with the things I managed to keep. I was not physically harmed, though trying to work with the distraction of possibly finding my purse was a huge challenge mentally. I kept myself together. Sort of. Grateful. Kinda. You know what? Its just stuff. This has been a year of learning how to manage money and do without. What I have discovered is, although I do need to reward myself occasionally, Im really not all that in to the acquisition of stuff. Not even choos, mang. I think its been good for me to struggle some so that I appreciate it when its feast instead of famine. What really matters is the well-being of your loved ones. Period.
