Awesome service today at SCF. The current series, dealing with Discovering Contentment in a World of Consumption hits very close to home. If youre not happy HERE...then you wont be happy THERE..because once you get THERE, there will just be another THERE and it never ends. And were all guilty. Most of us have far more than we could ever need or use.When looking through my stuff to find things to donate, I was amazed at all the crap I hadnt used, worn, or even SEEN in years...and those items could make somebody in need very happy, warm them or give them a sense of well being they may be lacking. Gerry and I have been taking bags of stuff to donate, and it really feels good all over. Also, the music today was exceptional, with Kathy, Mary, and Sarah (Pearman) of the Sprinkel family singing in such beautiful harmony; that familys dedication to SCF was one of the first things I noticed almost 6 years ago when I started going there and it inspired me to continue down that road. Im not a guy anyone, including myself, thats known me for any length of time would expect to even GO to church..old friends think Im pulling their leg when I mention it. But I now look forward to it every week and enjoy being around caring, friendly people.
