Ayn Rand said this -- in 1970. That is now 45 years ago. Its only too bad that mankinds history since then hasnt refuted her -- but simply proven her more right. --- Ecologists . . . predict universal doom and demand totalitarian power on the basis of arbitrary hypotheses . . . . The ecology movement disgraces science. It is a political and publicity movement. Moreover, even if their predictions were correct, they’d have no right to impose their “wisdom” by force on the rest of mankind. Those who agreed with them would be saved; those who didnt would perish. But this is an absolute: no discovery, no concept, no fact can give any individual or group the power to enforce their conclusions on others. --- In all the endless trivial details about statistics and whatnot regarding global warming/cooling/change -- this statement is the ONE thing to keep in mind, always, and to relentlessly to promote in our culture.
