Ayubowan, Fellow Sri Lankans of the Midwest, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” ~ Nelson Mandela You just supported a cause to capture the hearts of Sri Lankan youth and to unite them under one umbrella. You are one of the founding members of the Sri Lankan Youth Mid-West revolution. This initiative will be a noted as a revolutionary chapter in the history of Sri Lankan youth. Sri Lanka Youth Organization is a non-profit organization which creates an extensive network connecting Sri Lankan Youth across the globe. Our projects range from community service to leadership development sessions. Our upcoming projects include the SLYO Morahena Junior School Library Project and the Bathiya and Santhush North American Tour. As the Midwestern United States consists of 12 states, we will be covering a significant Sri Lankan population. Our initiation strategy falls thus, - I would like to call upon all the Sri Lankan Youth who are interested in being a part of the core-committee to please respond to this email explaining how you can contribute to this cause. It will be greatly appreciated if a minimum of one individual from each state agrees to join the committee. - After recruiting the troops for the core-committee, we will be working as one unit to initiate the organization followed by our first general meeting. Please be aware that we will introduce an online work platform in order to overcome geographical boundaries. Minutes of every meeting will be published online for reference. - Once we are initiated as a chapter, we will begin a recruiting spree where we will adhere to a state by state conquer approach. - To be recognized as an active chapter within the SLYO community, we are required to plan and execute a project. The project can range from fundraising to youth empowerment. I understand that this is a massive undertaking; however I’m willing to work with you in order to accommodate your schedule with the responsibilities of being an active member of the SLYO Midwest Chapter.
