[Shakir 3:169] And reckon not those who are killed in Allahs way as dead; nay, they are alive (and) are provided sustenance from their Lord; [Yusufali 3:169] Think not of those who are slain in Allahs way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord; [Pickthal 3:169] Think not of those, who are slain in the way of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Lord they have provision. [Pooya/Ali Commentary 3:169] Those slain in the way of Allah are not dead. They are alive, getting sustenance from their Lord. The unending life or continuous existence of the martyrs has been fully discussed in the commentary of al Baqarah: 154 and 155.
