When a parents inner convictions strengthen, the child grows as well. When a child changes paths for the good, the parents feel their lives also transformed. * * * PARENTAL BEHAVIOR A married couple asked for a blessing that their children behave properly. The Rebbe’s reply seems simple, but since I have not seen it in any parenting book, I’m including it here. Sometimes the most obvious is also the most inconvenient—and therefore the most avoided: Behave properly yourselves. When the children see your example, they will naturally want to do the same as their parents. Cuando las convicciones íntimas de los padres se fortalecen, el niño crece también. Cuando un niño cambia [de rumbo en su vida] para el bien, los padres sienten que sus vidas también se transforman. * * * EL COMPORTAMIENTO DE LOS PADRES Una pareja casada le pidió al Rebbe una bendición para que sus hijos se comportasen correctamente. La respuesta del Rebbe parecía simple, pero como no la he visto en ningún texto para educar a los padres, lo estoy incluyendo aquí. A veces, lo más obvio, es también es lo más inconveniente y por lo tanto lo que buscamos evitar con más frecuencia: “Compórtese correctamente consigo mismos. Cuando los niños ven su ejemplo, ellos naturalmente querrán hacer lo mismo que ustedes, sus padres. Entonces será sólo cuestión de hablar con ellos, paso a paso, día a día, y con el tiempo, esto ayudará * * *
