B.R.A.K.E.S. Bringing the Teen Pro-Active Driving School to Atlanta Dragway in August Doug Herbert has traveled across the country for the past twenty years racing his Top Fuel dragster at literally every NHRA and IHRA venue, scoring four IHRA world championships, ten NHRA national event titles, and making the second 300 MPH pass in drag racing history. Now, the non-profit 501(c)3 organization which he founded in 2008, B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe), is heading to historic Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA on August 17th & 18th to conduct its Teen Pro-Active Driving School for young motorists age 15-19. Herbert lost his two sons, Jon and James, in 2008 when they were killed in a traffic accident near the Herbert’s Charlotte, NC home. With a group of his sons’ schoolmates, Herbert created B.R.A.K.E.S. which has now offered the widely-acclaimed driving course—free of charge—to over 8000 teenagers across America. The Teen Pro-Active Driving School is taught by a team of professional instructors who cover a variety of valuable driving skills that increase awareness, conscientiousness, and focus along with higher degrees of car control in challenging situations.
