B*R*E*A*K*I*N*G- the -*C*H*A*I*N*S (Examining the heart -3) Next question we should ask ourselves in our habitual sinful ways is Are we truly seeking to be free? Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23) A lot of people know in their minds Christ is Lord, but accepting it in their hearts and aloud would mean they would have to confront their sins and be led to change. For believers we may say the same thing about some. Many know that HE is LORD, but may pick and choose which words to abide in. We may have remorse we got caught. So the question is are we remorseful our sin has been caught out of fear or shame? Or are we mournful over our sins and struggling to be set free? Are you feeling convicted in your spirit to change or are you feeling fear in your heart of remorse knowing that you are sorry just until you need your next fix. Repentance is not acceptable if its not an inward leading with a true confession of faith. GOD is not to be mocked. Do you declare the Lord with your mouth but then spend time walking in the world and then a little bit over here in the kingdom? Remember this is not about a struggle with sin. This is about self justification of a sin. The bible talks about a person who wavers in their faith. Do you see what Christians in other countries have to face giving up their lives? Are you willing to endure such tribulation for the Lord? Its easy to say we will, but we have to ask ourselves where does our true loyalty lay. In GOD or in ourselves? Do you crack under pressure or do you remain stronger in faith when trial comes and just give up til it passes? For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:7-8). This persons loyalty and desires will waver back and forth between spiritual satisfaction and desires of the flesh. (1 Peter 2:11) reminds us to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul God will not force you to worship him but we are warned of an alternative choice that we make with (Numbers 32:23) telling us to be sure we deal with our sins on our earth thinking we have a one way trip to heaven free to do what we want, which we will find out differently on Judgment day if we continue to refuse repentance and acknowledgment of the one who gives it. You can not serve the world and serve GOD (See Matthew 6:24). Anyone who loves the world , the love of the Father is not in him (1 John 2:15) It is okay to like things but not when your not willing to give them up in a second for GOD. For all that is in the world , the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes and boastful pride of life is not of the father. The world is passing away and also it lust but the one who does the will of GOD lives forever ( 1 John 2:16-17) People hate the word repent but there will be countless people perishing in the Lake of fire wishing they could hear it just one more time. Your not guaranteed another breath to repent of the sins you know your willingly allowing in your life. Make a choice today to serve the LORD your GOD. No matter your struggle HE will deliver. You may not know how, but you can surely know WHO! And thats the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Shawn D Blosser
