B4 Saturday Winter Cricket Today we resumed with first innings points in the bag but looking for an outright. 8 wickets down and a lead of 40 I said to the guys ideally we would like to score as many as we can and declare at drinks. Ben Daniel Jane picked up where he left off last week scoring freely until he found a fielder out for an excellent 79. Well batted Ben! Zac ZJ Jane provided good support finishing not out 24 while batting at 11 I swung for the fences and notched a quick 44 before also being caught out. So we lasted 15 overs and accumulated a lead of 124. I was really happy with that and with plenty of time to bowl them out again I thought we were a good chance. Ross Green opened from one end and bowled his standard tight line. But it was from the other end that Adam Baillie was again chief destroyer, bowling beautifully again he charged in for 17 overs straight to claim 5-52. Often proving just too good for the batsmen it was a really good spell from our quick. Zac also maintained his strong form with the ball capturing 2-20 off 9. Whilst I am embarrassed to say came on with them 7 down and mopped up the tail to take 3-12 off my 3 overs. In a good effort we rolled them for 136 and so had to go out and score 13 off 16 overs and we did so inside 2 thanks to the aggression of Robin Darwin. A great outright win and great team effort again. Well done boys! Thanks also to Mitchell Munro who champion bloke he is filled in for us last week.
