BA High Life Blog: Thailand: Point Yamu by COMO: The lowdown: Situated on a remote cape on the busy island of Phuket, Point Yamu by COMO is a true escape and a design buffs dream. Its minimalist design, created by star Italian designer Paola Navone, is truly impressive. Whilst more European than Thai (which wont suit everyone), it raises the bar for luxury holidays in Thailand. On arrival the building looks a little stark and, as you ascend a huge set of stairs to reception, its even more imposing. But a warm welcome awaits. We were greeted with a welcome drink, cooling face cloth and a flower garland made from fresh jasmine. The vast reception lounge doubles as a meeting area and contains a large shrine with chimes, flowers and Thai artefacts. Rooms are pure white, including the sofa, with furniture crafted from distressed wood. The design is very coastal-chic, with blue signature fabrics and the unique Point Yamu pattern print seamlessly connecting the room with the view — and what a view it is: the gor... bit.ly/1l76h44
