BABY #1 Romeo, oh Romeo! This 2 year old 83 lbs hunk of burnin’ love was rescued from an heartless and malicious abuser. Since entering our care, Romeo has gained over 20 lbs! He may reach 90lbs in total. We believe he is a Boerboel/Mastiff mix. When he came to us, Romeo was ravaged in mange, skin infections, and scabs. He only weighed 60lbs! However, now, he is completely HEALTHY. His foster mom says that he has the biggest paws she has ever seen! With his kissable snout, Romeo oozes cuteness. His innocence remains intact despite his past. Clearly, this boy was never allowed to be a carefree puppy and now he is enjoying that freedom, all the while coming into his own and his body. Romeo LOVES his kong wobbler, curiously investigating bugs, and sleeping UPSIDEDOWN. Constantly searching for the love he never had, Romeo will be your shadow and mirror. He is happy romping and galloping around or laying by your side, nuzzling his head into you. If you are cleaning or gardening, he will be your trusty assistant. Romeo loves cats and will try to play with them! He is also great with small dogs! He also does well in the car and is a gentleman on his leash. Romeo prances around in the brown suit and white sock ensemble he was born with! He also enjoys exploring the outdoors and cooling off in a lake or river. During bath time, he surrenders to relaxation and loves getting a back rub. Romeo’s forever home is ideally one without small children. Although Romeo is sweet and playful, he has yet to fully comprehend his own strength. Although we continue to work with him on training and obedience, this is something the home would continue to work on. Romeo is house broken and crate trained! This boy is totally worth his weight in gold! We will forever try to discern his past through his captivating eyes, ones filled with hurt and confusion, clueless to what love is. That is, until now.
