BAD-BAD-BAD NEWS :( :( :( POWERFUL PRAYER NEEDED! Java is officially LAME in his right hoof, a complication of the colic surgery. He has the worst type, sinking rather than rotating, and sinking to the inside. A veterinary podiatrist (specialist) is being flown in from KY today. Java will get a nerve block, shoes removed, feet trimmed conservatively, a venogram (so the doctor can see blood supply to the coffin bone), foot casts (for lots of support beneath the soles), as well as continued wear of his soft rides, and getting bute with GastroGuard. Hopefully, this aggressive treatment protocol will give the attachments to Javas coffin bone a chance to heal...... The vet told me to PRAY and PRAY HARD. No one expected this development; Java was fine last night :/ Im devastated.
