BAD EXPERIENCE SELLING MY HOME. I chose a well-known REAL ESTATE GROUP and their AGENTS to sell my house. When we signed the offer to purchase, the AGENT convinced me to use their preferred CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY to do the transfer. When I was in a meeting with the CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY , she WORKED OUT MY MONIES OWING WITH A CALCULATOR AND STILL WROTE DOWN THE WRONG AMOUNT. SHE ALSO GAVE ME INVOICES AND QUOTATIONS WITHOUT INVOICE WHICH SHE SAID SHE PAID OUT FOR THE PURCHASER OF MY HOME. I am now struggling to get my monies from this CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY. IS IT FAIR THAT A CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY DOES WHAT SHE WANTS WITH MY MONEY !!! THE CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY has also given me an account showing that they kept back R10 000 for a PLUMBING CERTIFICATE, al through there is no law requiring one to produce a plumbing certificate when a house is sold. They also kept back R15 000 for an Electric Fencing COC, of which I gave her Receptionist the COC FOR ELECTRIC FENCING WITH MY COC FOR ELECTRICAL COC. I have phoned the REAL ESTATE AGENT as well as the OWNER of the REAL ESTATE GROUP, but was told they cannot help me. IT SEEMS TO ME, ONCE THEY RECEIVE THEIR COMMISSION THEY WANT NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH THE SELLER. I have put in a Compliant at the Law Societ and at the Agents board. I have been told that they cannot make the ATTORNEY pay my money. The house is a beautiful home in Alberante, Alberton, that was well maintained, another agent informed me that I am not the only person that went through this. I had to appoint another Attorney to help me with this case. We have sent this CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY 5 letter allready, asking her what she has DONE WITH MY MONEY, the last letter my Attorney sent he wrote, . IT IS APPARENT FROM WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED IN THIS MATTER, THAT THE ONLY PERSON WHOSE INTEREST YOU HAVE ACTED HEREIN APPEAR TO BE THE PURCHASER (AND POSSIBLYOURSELF.). I put a complaint in at HELLO PETER and now the AGENTCY is getting an Interdict against me. HAVE WE NO RIGHT TO OUR OWN MONEY, OR IS THERE A NEW LAW THAT SAYS THE CONVEYANCING ATTORNEY CAN DO WHAT SHE WANTS TO !!! I do not want this to happen to anyone else and therefore I am writing this letter. Please let me know if anyone has had the same experience. Contact me on [email protected]
