BAD NEWS. We read and see so many violent crimes perpetuated everyday. GOOD NEWS: God loves you very much and has a wonderful plan for your life. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My (Jesus) purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Mark 8:36 Religion will never save us, only a real relationship with Jesus as our Lord and Saviour will. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 Savior means that He is the only one who can present us righteous to the Father through His suffering, death and resurrection and Lord means that we allow Him to cleanse us from all unrighteousness by grace through faith; a life of obedience and surrender to His will. (Romans 10:9-10) It is not by our good works and definitely not by trying to live righteous (no one is perfect; righteousness is a fruit of salvation). For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 3:22 Have you ever come to a point where you have completely given your life to God? Or are there still areas that you just could not let Him take control of. Is Jesus truly your Lord and Savior. True, no one is righteous and perfect, but do you allow Jesus to transform your life on a daily basis and cleanse you from sin? Is He the center of your life? Is He the ultimate hope and pinnacle of your faith? Many things can take our worship away from Jesus - people whom we give more importance than Him; people we chose over amd abobe him, money, position, even Christian books, brothers or leaders.
