Teen-ager from Siliguri looses life for loving a rich girl from Azamgarh, UP. Ganesh who is from Bagdogra used to teach in a private school in Azamgarh where he fell in love with Shivangi, the daughter of the school owner. They eloped and married as they knew Shivangis parents would never allow them to marry. Last month the police from UP raided Ganeshs house in Bagdogra and arrested his father and brother. During interrogation the police found that the couple are staying in an area named Bechu in Azamgarh. The police caught them and Ganesh was arrested. On 19 July Ganesh parents in Bagdogra received a letter saying Ganesh is ill and they need to come to see him. Ganesh parents informed his grandfather who stays in Jharkhand about this. He then went to the hospital in Azamgarh to see Ganesh. As he reached the hospital he saw Ganesh is dead and a constable was standing beside him. Ganesh was brutally killed. The body of Ganesh was given to the grandfather when he signed on a blank paper. The body of Ganesh was brought to Bagdogra yesterday morning. His body had several marks of torture which clearly proved that he didnt die of sickness but he was killed / murdered. Localities protested in front of Bagdogra police station with Ganeshs body asking for an inquiry into the murder of Ganesh. As the matter heated up SP West reached the spot and said that the body needs to be sent for post mortem again and an inquiry will be conducted. Sources say that in the entire UP region this thing is very common. Lovers are killed and brutally cut in to pieces. Usually even the dead bodies are hard find. People say India is developing but the orthodox minds of such people will remain there same. God be with Shivangi. RIP Ganesh. --------------------------------------------- ----------------------- The above story is what actually happened, below is the story which is doing rounds on the net. --------------------------------------------- ------------------------ A mob comprising a few hundred people Tuesday staged a demonstration with the body of a school teacher outside a police station in Bagdogra, Siliguri claiming that the man was murdered in judicial custody in Uttar Pradesh. The demonstrators at the Bagdogra police station demanded opening of a murder case and a repeat post mortem examination of the body of teacher Ganesh Chowdhury. A senior police officer said Chowdhury, a resident of Bagdogra, was employed as a teacher in Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. He died while in judicial custody in Azamgarh after his arrest in a kidnapping case. Family members of Chowdhury claimed he was in a relationship with the school owners daughter. As the girls father was against the marriage, the couple eloped. Following a police complaint, the teachers father and brother were arrested. When Chowdhury came to know of this, he gave himself up to police and was sent to judicial custody, said his brother-in-law Lal Babu Kamath. UP Police claimed he fell ill while in judicial custody and was admitted to a hospital, where he died. But we know it was a case of planned murder as the school owner has close links with the police there. His father and brother are still under arrest. UP Police have threatened to teach them a lesson if we protest over the incident. We demand opening of a murder case and a repeat post mortem, Kamath said. Siliguri police commissioner Jagmohan said a post mortem examination was already conducted in Uttar Pradesh, and a videography of the autopsy done. So, now we cannot conduct a post mortem on our own. But we have asked the family to submit a prayer on this to the Siliguri sub- divisional officer. If we get an order from the SDO, we can consider it, he said.
