BAIN TOWN VIDEO................this video posted in the Blame Dem Too forum has been widely seen and commented upon over the week-end. The video is clearly throwing out a challenge to the DNA. Im not a member of the DNA; Im not a supporter of the DNA, but as a Bahamian citizen, Id like to make a proposition to the DNA. The DNA may want to consider holding some workshops in the inner city areas, and invite persons who appeared on the video and others to attend. At this workshop, these persons can be taught the basic principles of starting a small business. The workshops could also share with participants some simple business ideas that they can put into operation right away. Here is an example of one simple business idea. There were several strong, healthy looking young men who spoke on the video. These young men could form a cooperative to provide yard services, mowing of lawns and the like. The DNA or some other corporate citizen could provide the lawn mowers, help them with the marketing and launch them into business. Then of course, the DNA could get good mileage out of this initiative. A few months down the line, produce another video with these same people talking about how they were able to create employment for themselves through the self help initiative launched by the DNA. I am not making this suggestions only for political mileage. These people in Bain Town are our fellow Bahamian citizens. They are crying out for help and someone needs to reach out and help them.
