First mass produced in 1940s.The humble ballpoint pen made its debut in Pakistan in 1965 when a company called Syyed engineering was launched. Back then challenges were incredible as machines needed for the venture were only available in the most advanced countries of the world. Syyed engineers struggled with formulating the ink for right viscosity. All hard work paid off and with well known ballpoint pen brands like Piano and Tempo the company flourished. They are now the largest manufacturers of pens and pencils in Pakistan and also export to many countries.
