BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Atladara,Baroda has drawn to its floor - TopicsExpress

BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Atladara,Baroda has drawn to its floor with more than 1000 visitors in a day in a routine, making it one of the most visited edifices in Baroda as a house of worship. Since the renovation of temple It is possible to see in the architecture of India, to an extent probably unknown elsewhere, the roots of religion in a most clear and distinct manner. The meaningful and powerful symbols which can be seen in the temple entrance gate to buildings and in their ornamentation, and even in the settings in which they have been placed, draw their inspiration from the hindu religious convictions of the people, convictions which form an integral part of the Indian way of life. In this way we can discover the allegorical meanings which the forms, the colours, and the statues in a temple are meant to convey, to such an extent that we can call Indian architecture an architecture of allegory and symbol, in that hidden meanings dwell in every shape and form. These hidden meanings have a close and inspiring connection with the life of the people of this city. Generally people among of us pass the way and just notice that temple but not the hidden meaning formed in a structure around as well inside the temple! A little initiative by BPA members on a very fine Sunday morning as a Photowalk! A group image from Baroda Photography Artisans - Swaminarayan Temple Photowalk - Atladara 21st December 2014!
