Senate Performance. • Addressed Baringo County Assembly and outlined his agenda • Chairperson Senate Committee; Energy, Transport and Infrastructure • Voted NO in the impeachment of Embu Governor. Development Records: BARINGO GEOTHERMAL POWER PROJECT IS HIS BIGGEST AND FLAGSHIP PROJECT • Secured state and donor funding for Baringo GDC energy project over 2Billion shillings • Biggest GDC project that will generate 3000 Megawatts to the national grid. • Situated in Bogoria, Kampi Samaki, Silale, Korosi and Paka • Gross revenue generated to Baringo County in excess of Kshs. 3 Billion • Negotiated for 5% of all revenues to be directly given back to the resident community • By product of the geothermal power; water , to be used for irrigation of the ASAL areas • 1.8 million direct and indirect employment opportunities from the Baringo GDC project Other Development Initiatives • Negotiated and secured fresh funding for the stalled Saos – Kabarnet road and change of contractor • Negotiated for the waiving of Ksh. 30 Million AFC loans owed to Eldama Ravine Farmers • Secured funding for phase II of Chemosusu Dam for water distribution • Negotiating for Phase II of Kirdam. Distribution and Sewerage System for Kabarnet • Secured full scholarship for Baringo scholar to undertake Nuclear Science in Korea • Donated 3000 iron sheets to residents of Nadome in the Pokot/Turkana border to set up trading centre by facilitating inter community trade • Leading the negotiation for the fast tracking of issuance of title deed to Mochongoi Settlement scheme and the demarcation of the forest cut line • Donated two motorbikes to chiefs in East Pokot to facilitate peace process • Negotiated with IG of Police for recruitment of more Kenya Police Reservists and facilitates and supports them in guarding the volatile Baringo borders 3.
