BARINGO COUNTYS DEVOLUTION REVIEW By #KendeleLimo Baringo County Government intends to put over 45 000 acres of land under irrigation in the next five years to help boost countys food basket as well as create employment. Speaking during a review of devolution process in Baringo County at the Kenya School of Government in Kabarnet, one year after being voted in, Baringo County governor Benjamin Cheboi said his government was on track in fulfilling its publications to better the lives of Baringo County residents. He added that most projects are already at implementation stage and that the County will soon be transformed once the projects on various sectors are complete Mr. Cheboi also indicated that the County will supports efforts to curb insecurity by increasing the number of KPR. Although security issues are still with the national government, as a county, we will not seat back and watch as our people are maimed, said governor Cheboi. On corruption, Governor Cheboi, said the County government will soon establish a ombudsman office to deal with corruption cases within the County.If you see any corrupt county officer, report to me directlythe governor said. The theme of the review was Devolution at work, Confronting challenges. The governor also lounged the first ever County magazine which will be airing Baringo issues. He revealed that the County will establish more communication channels including a radio station to ease interaction between the County government and the residents of Baringo County.
