BASIC BRAZILIAN SAMBA Having trained for seven years at Chicagos Old Town School of Folk Music with former Samba queen and Rio de Janeiro native, Dill Costa, Diandra will share the intricate footwork, hip movement, and port de bras of Brazilian Samba, featuring both European and African influenced movements from Rio (the home of the worlds biggest Carnival), to Bahia, and all the way to the Amazon. Dress comfortably, wear jazz shoes or go barefoot. Class will include stretching, warm-ups, samba basics, and a cumulative choreography. Thursdays 7-8:15 pm. Five-week workshop starts November 7th. $10 for company members. $15 for general public. Discount of 10% for full six-week registration.
