BASIC TIPS OF WRITING POST UTME EXAMS a clear printout of the completed online registration form. A copy of the passport size photograph uploaded (during the Post-UTME online registration) with the candidate’s full name and JAMB Registration number written at the back (of the passport photo). A clear printout of the JAMB Result (and possibly the JAMB Online Registration form). Basic writing Materials, to include a pen, HB pencil, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, etc. However, handsets (mobile phones), scientific calculators and other electronic devices are not allowed, violators will be punished. The next thing is a good understanding of how the OMR (Shading) Sheet system really works. During the test, a candidate is required to shade in their answers onto the sheet. The OMR Sheet is the collected at the end of the test and sent to the machine that will mark the sheets. The marking (OMR) machine then proceeds to mark the sheets. It marks the sheet based on optical recognition. This means that the machine marks ONLY WHAT IS SEES. Thus if a candidate fails to shade properly, then machine will NOT see it. A few reasons why the machine may not see the shaded answer are; Using the wrong kind of pencil. HB pencils are recommended. Using a blunt pencil, though it may be the recommended HB pencil. Not completely shading the box or space provided. Some candidates on scratch across the provided space, others shade lightly, etc. These errors can hinder the marking machine from proper marking of a candidates sheet. Not properly cleaning a shading in error. If a candidate discovers that he/she had shaded the wrong answer, the candidate woule be wise to clean out the wrong shading properly, before proceeding to shade the candidates correct choice. If this is not done, the machine may see two different answers for the same question and void the entry for that particular question. Read the instructions carefully. Listen carefully to further verbal instructions from the Invigilators. No invigilator ever sets out to punish a candidate he/she has never met before in life. So go with the mindset that the Inviligator is there to help you and NEVER consider any Invigilator an enemy or a wicked person. Read the instructions carefully, at least twice. Then proceed to obey them. Failure to obey instructions can complicate you results. Do not talk or communicate with anyone in the hall, if you are not required to. If you run into any issues and need assistance, etc. Raise you hand and the Invigilator(s) will attend to you. Speak politely to the Invigilators. Address them as Sir or Ma, while using a polite tone of voice.Avoid any body language that will suggest that you are in confrontation with your invigilator, etc. Fill all required forms. Sign in and sign out if required. Follow ALL instructions. Finally, Be Wise! Avoid anything that could affect your admission chances. Observe well. Do not appeal of using money to get what you need. Most persons peddling admission services are scammers. They will only take your money and disappear. Be careful. Friends, I sincerely wish you all the best. Hoping to be at your Matriculation
